While part of an inmate work crew in Greenville working under the supervision of jailer Dixon Latham, Vincent Bernard Dickey stripped off his "jail stripes" and ran away from the work crew in his T-shirt and boxer shorts. Dickey found some clothes at his mothers house and managed to elude authorities until the following day, when he was found hiding in a closet in the vacant side of a local duplex. As a result of the incident, Dickey has now been convicted of escape. See Tex. Pen. Code Ann. § 38.06(a), (c).
